Today, we're speaking with Scott Devon, the founder and Creative Director of Devon Works. While today he's best well-known for his belt-driven watches, his roots start with the "classics? courtesy of his father and grandfather.
Advertising MessageaBlogtoWatch (ABTW): Who are you and what is your relationship to the fake watch industry?
Scott Devon (SD): My name is Scott Devon, Founder and Creative Director for Devon Works and Devon Tech Labs based in Los Angeles, California. We are best known for creating the now iconic Devon Tread 1 in 2010.
ABTW: When did your fascination with replica watches start?
Advertising MessageSD: My Grandfather collected watches, pocket watches, clocks, and music boxes. And my Father was a Replica Rolex Man. I inherited their pieces and recall with fond memories their love of timepieces.
ABTW: What was your first grail, and why were you drawn to this watch?
SD: My Father gave me his favorite gold Replica Rolex "Jubilee?as a gift for obtaining my Master's degree. He then purchased the Replica Rolex "Presidential?for his personal watch. He engraved my name on the back which was and is very special for me.
ABTW: Do you still have the watches? Or have you moved on to something else?
SD: Yes, I've retained all of my replica watches and just added Maximillian Büsser's Music Box to my personal collection. But of course, I mainly wear my brand. I've retained all of the serial number 1's that we make and rotate wearing them. However, we are always working on new designs that won't be made until a year or two from now, so my mind is always on the ones to be made and wondering how soon I can get them produced!
